Background: I grew up with comedy faves like Inspector Clouseau, Arthur and Terry from Minder, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python ... the list is almost endless. Whether it was a bumbling clown like Basil Fawlty threatening someone with a large garden gnome or a wheeler dealer like Arthur Daley trying to flog a job lot of bent telephones to the local constabulary, I'd be glued to the screen, lapping up every gag, every tortured expression and every pratfall.
So, if you enjoy TV shows like Blackadder, Red Dwarf and Dr Who, or books by Douglas Adams, Tom Holt, Terry Pratchett, Hergé or Jasper Fforde, or even the Space Quest computer games, then the Hal Spacejock series is for you. The prize: Winners will have a choice of Hal 1, 2, 3 or 4, so you can enter even if you don't have the first books in the series. Better still, the prize includes worldwide airmail postage, so this competition is open to all!
The procedure: After each draw you will receive an email containing a unique number and a link to a winners page just like this. If your number appears on the relevant winners page, you've won!
Duplicate Entries: It doesn't matter how many times you enter - duplicates are removed before winners are selected. And if you change your email, just submit an entry with the new address. When I get a bounce from your old one I'll delete the original entry.
Secret bonus: Now and then I'll write back and offer someone a copy of the book. Just use the comments field to tell me why you deserve a copy, and you'll increase your chances. (This doesn't affect the result of the main draw, which is random.)
